Canada is Trying to Put Cancer Warning Labels on Every Cigarette
By now, we all know that smoking is bad for you, and we don’t have to look very far to be reminded of that as there are giant printed labels on each pack.
In Canada, they are taking it a step further and looking at possibly printing cancer warnings on each individual cigarette.
Right now, there are warnings on each pack of cigarettes, with pictures showing cancer and disease. They’ve been mandatory in Canada since 2001 in both English and French.
These new rules might also apply to leaf tobacco, tobacco sticks, little cigars, and even clove cigarettes.
“Tobacco use is the leading cause of premature death in Canada.” If they do put warnings on each cigarette, Canada would be the first nation in the world to do so.
